he Konene Area Development Association (KADA) is a grassroots organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development in the Konene area. Founded in October 2007, KADA serves as a catalyst for positive change in the community through various initiatives and projects.
At the core of KADA’s mission is the promotion of socio-economic development, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment. Through collaborative efforts with local stakeholders, government agencies, and NGOs, KADA implements programs aimed at improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihood opportunities for residents in the Konene area.
KADA’s activities encompass a wide range of areas, including education, healthcare, agriculture, water and sanitation, entrepreneurship, and environmental conservation. The association facilitates skills development workshops, provides access to healthcare services, supports agricultural training and extension services, and undertakes initiatives to improve access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Furthermore, KADA prioritizes community participation and inclusivity, ensuring that all members of the Konene community have a voice in decision-making processes and benefit from development initiatives. By fostering collaboration and mobilizing resources, KADA strives to create a vibrant and sustainable future for the Konene area, empowering residents to lead dignified and fulfilling lives.
Projects realized.
1. Rehabilitation of the konene water project and yearly maintenance of the water project.
2. Lobbied for the creation of GNS/GS Konene.
3. Constructed two classrooms at GS Konene.
4. Lodged and equipped the gerdamarie post in konene from 2009-2015.
5. Bought a piece of land where there is an ongoing project aimed at constructing a
community hall.
Envisaged Projects.
1. To complete the construction of the community hall.
2. To lobby for the upgrade of GSS Konene to GHS
3. Provision of scholarship for disadvantaged children in the community.
