Mungong Cultural and Development Association (MUCUDA)
Introduction:
Established in 2007, MUCUDA is a community-driven organization dedicated to fostering development and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Mungong. With its roots firmly planted in the Mungong community, MUCUDA has played a pivotal role in spearheading various initiatives aimed at empowering the residents and driving sustainable progress in the region.
Creation and Evolution:
Founded in 2007, MUCUDA emerged as a grassroots organization committed to addressing the developmental challenges faced by the Mungong community. Over the years, MUCUDA has evolved into a dynamic platform that advocates for social change, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment in Mungong.
Objectives, Mission, Vision,
Mission: MUCUDA’s mission is to promote holistic development, foster cultural preservation, and empower the residents of Mungong to create a prosperous and sustainable future for generations to come.
Vision: MUCUDA envisions a vibrant and inclusive Mungong community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, and the cultural heritage is celebrated and preserved for posterity.
Short Bios of Presidents:
Mr. Gaba Simon (President): Mr. Gaba Simon has been at the helm of MUCUDA since 2007. With a deep commitment to community development and a visionary leadership style, Mr. Simon has been instrumental in guiding MUCUDA towards realizing its goals and objectives.
Existing Branches and Presidents:
MUCUDA operates through the following branches, each with dedicated leadership:

  3. Bafoussam Branch (Mr. Kemcha Samuel)
  4. Bamenda Branch (Tata Gilbert)
  5. Loum Branch (Wanlo Lawrence)
  6. Home Branch (Mr. Njah Cletus)
  7. Southwest (Tantoh Nelson)
    Realized Projects:
  8. MUCUDA has successfully implemented various projects aimed at improving the lives of residents in Mungong. Some of the notable projects include:
  9. Branch creation: MUCUDA was created with the intention of bringing the scattered Mungong population in and out of the country together with the sole purpose of collective welfare.
  10. Community Hall: MUCUDA has already laid the groundwork for the full realisation of the community hall.
    Envisaged Projects: Looking towards the future, MUCUDA has planned a series of initiatives to further advance its mission and support the development of Mungong. Some envisaged projects include:
  11. Community Hall: [A modern community hall powered by solar energy, to include a library, a space for inherited crafts, rooms that can be used as temporary classrooms and a large sitting space for the village gatherings]
  12. Bridge Construction over River Kimbi: [A sustainable bridge to link the most fertile part of the village land and the rest of the village. This will help reduce poverty and provide continuous food for generations to come]
  13. Land Transformation: [Mungong is the largest in terms of surface area in Bum subdivision. We intend to transform this land into a cash crop producing hemisphere. We are expecting to be the leader in everything agricultural in Bum subdivision]
  14. secondary school: we want to realise the next generation secondary school in Mungong by 2030.
  15. cultural re- integration: our history makes us to understand that our brothers and sisters reside in villages elsewhere, we want to create representatives in all these villages with the aim of reintegration and oneness!
    Through its impactful projects, dedicated leadership, and unwavering commitment to community development, MUCUDA continues to be a beacon of hope and progress in Mungong.
