Bum Community United Kingdom
Bum community association UK was created in 2010 with objectives to: To prevent, relief of poverty and financial hardship in Bum people in the world by promoting and supporting education, training, health care and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate sustainable income and be self-reliant. The Chairman of the association is Eric Wango.
Project Realised
- Creation of the first web site for Bum Community Association UK, that helped highlight Bum and its history to the world.
- Roofing of 3 classrooms in GS Fonfuka damaged by the inclement weather in March 2011.
- Sponsored the red cross training project carried out in Fonfuka in partnership with Bum CRC and RC in April 2012
- Provision of study scholarships to orphans and vulnerable children in Bum, this included school fees. books and other materials required to facilitate their education including solar lamps in the last year, this was carried out for 4 years (2014 – 2018).
- Supported the construction of the Bamenda multipurpose BDU hall with the sum of 500,000XAF.
- Since 2021 BCOM UK has been providing scholarships on an annual basis to the sum of 3million FCFA towards vocational training for Bum sons and daughters in Bamenda, Yaounde, Douala and Buea in acquiring skills like driving, baking, computing etc.
- BCOM Uk has provided support towards the school feeding program championed by the Community Vision Group in Bum in 2022 and 2023.
Envisaged Projects - Mainly empowering our people through the provision of vocational trainings.
- Support short term viable infrastructure projects as the need arise.
- Linking Fonfuka council to a council in the UK
